Until the age of the Internet, the estate agent was the tried and trusted method of selling a home. You got them in, they valued the house, put it on their books and the viewings came flooding in. Or so you hoped.
When house prices averaged around £60,000 to £70,000 on average, the fee payable was somewhere between £1,200 and £1,400.
Since then though house prices have rocketed, and so have the Agent fees, average something like between £5,200 and £6,000 in fees. That’s up to FIVE times the fee less than a decade ago.
Are you getting FIVE times the service?
The answer is probably not.
Then there’s the issue of viewings. Some estate agents really know how to sell a property. Unfortunately a lot of them don’t. Most vendors of property often do the selling, even with the Agent present.
And let’s face it; it’s much easier to enthuse about a property when it belongs to you.
This is why more and more people are using the Internet to sell their property.
For a small fee you can list your property on our website. You take the enquiries – then you conduct the viewings.
Its not as convenient as using an estate agent – a little more work is involved certainly, but you’ll find you could have several thousand pounds or more left over in your bank account to show for it.
